Shelter & Rehoming

Every Dog Deserves a Second Start

Alongside our litters, Pawmarsh shelters a small number of rescue dogs — retired breeding dogs, returned pups and local surrenders. They live in foster homes, never kennel rows, while we assess, retrain and find their right humans.

  • Full vet work, behaviour assessment and a retraining plan for each dog.
  • Fostered in real homes, so we can tell you honestly how they live.
  • Adoption fee covers costs only — and includes the same lifetime backup.
How We Help

From Rescue to Sofa in Four Stages

1

Intake & Vet Care

Health checks, vaccinations, neutering where appropriate, and time to simply decompress.

2

Foster & Assess

Two weeks minimum in a foster home learning house manners, evaluated by our behaviour lead.

3

Retrain

Lead walking, crate comfort, alone-time and recall — rebuilt patiently at the dog's pace.

4

Rehome

Matched to an experienced home with trial weekends, then supported for life like any Pawmarsh dog.

Fostering

Foster a Dog, Change Its Story

Foster families are the heart of our shelter work. We cover food, vet bills and training; you provide the sofa, the routine and the honest report that helps us match each dog forever.

Most fosters stay four to eight weeks. Around half of our foster families end up adopting — we call that a foster win, not a foster fail.

Shelter FAQs

Good Questions

What does it cost to adopt a rescue dog?

A fixed fee that covers vaccinations, microchip and neutering — typically well below the cost of the vet work alone. We are a shelter, not a shop.

Can I meet a dog before applying?

Yes, after an initial chat so we can suggest the right dogs. Meetings happen at the foster home with a team member present, plus a trial weekend before anything is final.

What if we already have pets?

Most of our residents are cat- and dog-tested in foster. We arrange careful introductions and only proceed when every animal is comfortable.
